Ed Sheeran delighted fans during his concert in Bengaluru by inviting singer Shilpa Rao on stage. The two artists teamed up to perform the popular track “Chuttamalle” from the film Devara. Demonstrating his commitment to connecting with his audience, the Grammy-winning singer shared snippets of his journey to learn Telugu on Instagram before the performance.

In a video from the concert, Ed Sheeran introduced Shilpa Rao to the crowd, exclaiming, “Please make some noise for Shilpa Rao!” The audience erupted in cheers as the pair harmonized beautifully on stage, with Ed skillfully blending Telugu lyrics while strumming his guitar.

He expressed his admiration for Shilpa, stating, “Obsessed with @shilparao’s voice for a while, it’s a real privilege to share the stage tonight and learn a new language!” Shilpa Rao later shared a clip on her Instagram Stories, showing Ed practising guitar chords and the lyrics in Telugu. Their camaraderie was evident as Shilpa smiled, clearly impressed by how quickly Ed picked up the song.

About Ed Sheeran’s tour

Currently in India for his Mathematics tour, Ed also showcased his versatility by playing the sitar during his performance of Shape of You, with guidance from sitar player Megha Rawoot. He had previously shared the stage with music legend AR Rahman in Chennai. Ed’s tour will culminate with a concert in Delhi-NCR on February 15.
